Biography

Dr. Muhammad Farooq has more than 13 years of research, industrial and teaching experience around the globe including UK, USA, China, Italy, Turkey, Germany, France, Pakistan, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain and Netherlands. He has completed his PhD from UK in 2018 and Currently, leading a research group of Energy Environment and Sustainability Research (EESR) at the department, with a team of 30 researchers with more than 20 national & international collaborators and supervising a number of M.Sc. and PhD students. He has a research portfolio of about $230,000 USD and author > 100 technical journals and peer reviewed conference papers with cumulative impact factor > 275. As an Editor, he has handled > 400 research articles of different journals and peer reviewed international conferences including Energy & Environment SAGE (impact factor 2.945), Biofuel Research Journal (Q1 Category), Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences UET Lahore, Frontiers in Energy Research, Proceedings of International Conference on Energy Water and Environment – 2021, and Proceedings of International conference on Mechanical Engineering – 2020. As a volunteer and recognized reviewer of leading international journals, he reviewed > 200 research papers and received recognition awards from top-notch journals of Elsevier, Springer, SAGE Publishing and Taylor & Francis group. He has received various highly competitive travel and research grants including, Fellowship of National Slovak Program, NRPU HEC competitive research grant, Best Paper Award by Institute of Engineers (IEP), Pakistan, Faculty Research Grant UET, British Council Travel Award, Neilson Research Award, EU-CO2-TRIP Project funded by Marie Curie Actions IRSES for Clean Coal Energy Generation, UK ADNET Research Travel Grant, UK BBSRC and Faculty Development Scholarship. He served regularly as chair of technical sessions (8), conference secretory (2), member of technical committees (10), conducted national (17) and international trainings (4) as resource person, Organizer (8) and invited keynote speaker (4) in various world-renowned international conferences, summer schools and professional meetings related to Energy systems.
